What is the best tripod for the home photo studio?

There are thousands of tripods on the market.  Many of them are quite expensive –but in reality you don’t need a large expensive one for a small home photo studio.  On the other hand, many of the cheaper tripods are really junk.  They wobble, they break and have very few features.

Here are some tripods that I have tested that provide good value for the money:

Any of the above models will do the trick. Probably my two favorites are the Sunpak and the Sony. I really like the Sony as it has a quick release head.
